Aaron and Emma’s Pre-Wedding/Engagement photo shoot

Off

Aaron and Emma’s Pre-Wedding/Engagement photo shoot was on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Spring time. Blossoms were in bloom and new life was springing up around us. It was the first time we were meeting face-to-face and the weather played along beautifully! Having a pre-wedding photo shoot, gives brides and groom-to-be a chance to spend quality time together in nature away from the busy-ness of life. It also gives them both the chance to get used to being photographed.

This engaged couple were both naturals in their Pre-Wedding photo session: very comfortable, in-love and relaxed. Even though they said they had been nervous beforehand, they didn’t show it.

Having a Pre-Wedding/Engagement photo shoot before the wedding is valuable for both of us. It is a special time to celebrate your love without all the nerves of the wedding day. It’s a good break from all the wedding planning and prep. It reminds you what it’s all about – each other! Not withstanding, it helps me observe how you two naturally interact to plan wedding shots that will be comfortable for you as a couple. It also gives you a chance to experience how it feels being photographed and to build trust so you can relax on your wedding day knowing a bit more of what to expect on your wedding day. It goes without saying, but I really enjoyed photographing and getting to know Aaron and Emma better!

Pre-Wedding/Engagement shoot in Spring

A walk through gorgeous heather gardens moved onto some playful running together, taking turns to lead the other through the garden paths. Playful/fun/silly “how about we try this…” prompts are all normal on a Smiley Day session. It’s all part of creating meaningful moments of memory-making.

Pre-Wedding/Engagement shoot in Spring
Twirling in front of a cherry blossom tree… you can expect whimsical ideas might make you laugh! I love capturing capturing joyful giggles and movement.

When you’re focused on doing something together, you forget about being photographed and focus on each other and that’s the connection I love capturing.

A black and white photo is classic and timeless I often put a few into my clients’ galleries. The focus shifts from colours to the textures and composition and just gives it a different feel.

I know you’ve got wedding prep and life to get back to. We make the pre-wedding/engagement shoot as long/short as suits you. Regardless, it is a valuable time to for both of us to prepare for the big day! I will be with you through the majority of your day, talking you through what to expect next and what I’d like from you. So even if you don’t have a pre-wedding/engagement shoot, you’ll be in good hands!

It was a joy spending time with this couple. It was a delight capturing memories of this time for them. As busy parents, I think they appreciated the time out too. I highly recommend having a pre-wedding/engagement shoot before your wedding hence all Smiley Day weddings include a pre-wedding shoot.
