When your day is full of genuinely fun, happy moments, my job of capturing lots of smiles and memories is an easy one. This is the kind of experience I like to create for my clients and why we’re called “Smiley Day Photography.”
I love photographing children, couples and families outdoors in beautiful natural locations in and around Surrey, where there is space for exploring and playing. (I also enjoy the occasional site-seeing/city shoot too.)
Quite a popular option is gifting someone special with a Smiley Day voucher. They’re particularly popular as Christmas gifts, anniversary gifts and as gifts for grandparents who are downsizing/have everything they need, for a significant birthday.
(Some families like to have the photo shoot as a surprise then gift their loved one with a photo gallery of the images from which they can choose their favourites. Others gift a voucher for a future photo shoot where the recipients will be in the photo shoot. Large group photo shoots are always great fun.)

Maternity photo shoot for a mum-to-be:
£150 for 1 hour of photography in an outdoor location

£550 for 1 hour of photography and all edited digital image files
These are shorter photo shoots as I don’t want to keep a mum-to-be on her feet for too long. Ideally I like to photograph mums around 34 weeks into the pregnancy (when your belly is beautifully round and while it’s still comfortable to move about or get up and down.)

Newborn photo shoot with the family:
£250 for 1-2hours contiguous shooting in the home
OR
£550 for 1-2 hours of photography and all edited digital image files
The perfect time for photographing newborns is within the first 12 days as little ones are still quite sleepy and curled up so posing is easier. After that, their koala-like curl unfolds and by 30 days, you no longer have a newborn. The time is going to go so quickly even though you’ll be awake for a lot of it! 6months and 9months are other gorgeous times to photograph babies and families. I offer a combination of styled and unstyled/lifestyle newborn photography and family photography, in the home.
“Smiley Day”
A family of 3-4:
£175 for 1 hour of photography in an outdoor location

£550 for 1 hour of photography and all edited digital image files
I know some great spots for seasonal favorites like bluebell woods and fields of daffodils in and around Surrey. you can also choose your own location that’s special to you. This includes 10 digital image files
A “Smiley Day” family of 5-6:
£200 for 1-2 hours of photography outdoors on location
OR
£550 for 1 hour of photography and all edited digital image files
In all photo shoots I try to capture photos of each individual, a few of the whole family, a couple photo for the mum and dad and different combinations of family like brothers together/sisters together, brothers and sisters, mum and the girls, dad and the boys etc. For this reason, the larger the family the more time we need as I take more photos than I would for a smaller family. This includes 10 digital image files.
A Smiley Day family or group of 7-9:
£250 for a 2 hour+ photo shoot outdoors on location

£650 for 2 hours of photography and all edited digital image files
This is a popular gift idea for a parent’s significant birthday or grandparents’ significant anniversary where the cousins are photographed together. (I have vouchers available and am happy to photograph before or after the big day.) This includes 10 digital image files.
A “Big Smiley Day” for extended families:
£300 for 1-2 hours photo shoot outdoors on location for 10 or more

£650 for 1-2hours of photography and all edited digital image files
Extended family photo shoots for family groups of 10 or more are popular as photo gifts for grandparents for special anniversaries or significant birthdays. Often siblings and their families all get together and have a photo shoot together.
All family photo shoots include 3 digital images, 2x 7″x5″ 1x 8″x10″ professionally printed photographs. Canvases, aluminium wall display prints, acrylic wall display prints, multi and single frame photographs, photo books, albums and additional digital image files are available to view and order when your photos are ready for viewing.

Engagement (or couple) photo shoots
All wedding photography includes an engagement photo shoot (which you’re welcome to use for “save the date” announcements or photo invitations) and +/- 500 carefully selected and edited image files on a USB. Sometimes by the time you book your photographer, you’ve been engaged for a while. An optional pre-wedding couple shoot is included in our collections to help you feel relaxed and prepared for your day. The idea of being photographed all day can feel a bit daunting for some and I like to put you at ease, especially if either of you are a bit camera shy. Whether you’re a cuddly couple or perhaps prefer less public displays of affection, I’ll adapt my prompts to what suits you as a couple.

Would you like 1 shooter or would you like a second shooter?
How many hours coverage would you like?
You’ve chosen the One, the dress, the shoes, the flowers, the venue, the table decor, the favours, the food, the guests… you’re going to be focused on being present so let me capture all the little details as well as the big emotion moments and little moments so you can make memories while I capture them for you. The second shooter I use regularly is great and together, we can be capturing you both getting ready at the same time as well as guests waiting. Having a second shooter allows for more creative angles and I highly recommend it.

I aim to make your photo shoot a fun “smiley day” filled with happy memories in nature. I love photographing movement, so no doubt there’ll be lots of prompts to do things together to make happy memories while I capture them for you.

I can give ideas of what to wear and colour combinations that work well to create a cohesive professional look as a group if you’re haivng a family shoot. After the call, if you’re happy to go ahead, we sign agreements, I ask for a deposit and it’s all booked and ready to go!
Travel expenses:
- My return journey to locations outside Guildford will be charged at the AA’s rate and will be invoiced to clients.
- Return bus or train tickets and entrance fees or parking fee will be invoiced to clients.
