Bluebells on farmland
Bluebells on farmland after lockdown was the perfect location for this family. It never felt better being able to once more have a family photo session after lockdown. It was even better reopening by photographing this wonderful, outdoor-loving family that I’ve photographed twice before. I discovered hidden carpet of bluebells on a lock down family walk. The walk had a loop that happened to have lots of variety for fun photos. There was a winding lane, a hill to run down, bluebells and little paths. When I did a location scout out to prep for their shoot, I discovered my go-to bluebell spot had been over-visited and was sadly trampled. This new spot actually worked out even better. This patch of bluebells on farmland was perfect.
We were meeting up in early Spring. I was hoping they bluebells would be out… and they had just opened!

I love a location with lots of variety and purposefully choose spots that have space for children to run, play and for families to have fun together. This one did not disappoint. Bluebells on farmland were out. There were twisty paths, a great big hill to run down, a gorgeous tree to picnic under and a curving road where I’ve photographed several families walking.

The children had such fun climbing this hill and running races down it! In fact everyone did. I love it when a nature-loving, outdoorsy family is up for all my crazy prompt suggestions.

This family is one that I’ve had the joy and privilege of photographing over the past years and this was their third Smiley Day. It was so lovely seeing how much the children had grown. As always it is my joy and privilege to facilitate memory-making in a beautiful space for families to hang on walls and treasure forever.

This was the last photo of the Smiley Day and the sun was shining. I wanted to try one last running photo, this time staggered. I love how it turned out and it’s one of my favs of this shoot. It was such a pleasure and a joy photographing this family again, in bluebells on farmland!
