An Autumn leaves family photo shoot
An Autumn family photo shoot in bright yellowing leaves. What a fun day it was capturing this family making memories together!
As my website was not yet developed at the time of this shoot, this is a throwback to their 2016 “Smiley Day.” We’d all been watching the leaves change, wondering if we had the right date for a setting of yellow leaves like we were hoping for. I’d scouted out the spots where I wanted to photograph the family a week prior to the photo shoot and hooray, the leaves were so much brighter on the day of their shoot than they had been even a few days earlier!

Having fun doing something you enjoy with the people you love the most, makes capturing natural smiles easy. (This is why I like to call my family photo shoots “Smiley Days.”)
When everyone is relaxing, playing, walking, exploring, climbing trees, collecting leaves and sticks and making happy memories together we get great shots. Before every photo shoot we meet up for a chat to go through likes and dislikes I should be aware of and I give tips on outfit choices. All these things help prepare myself and my clients for the best day out possible. We also stop for snack breaks, tree climbing and breaks whenever necessary so that the little ones are happy.

The location for the Browns family photoshoot was Winkworth Arboretum in Godalming, a National Trust spot they love visiting regularly for family walks. It was a busy half term Saturday afternoon and the Autumn leaves were at their peak, perfect for a family walk outdoors.

The next Autumn family photoshoots/Smiley Days are just around the corner. If you haven’t yet booked yours, there are still a few spots open for a last minute booking.
